Nassau County Supreme Court can hear cases and reach judgments for all civil and criminal disputes. Civil matters are typically heard when monetary damages exceed $25,000 or when a party desires to enjoin or stop certain actions by another party. Termination of marriage cases—divorce, annulment, and separation—may only be heard here at the Supreme Court. Though criminal cases involving felonies are usually go to the County Court, the Supreme Court also has the authority to hear them.
