M. Dinora Smith is an Associate Attorney, within the Commerical & Employment Litigation division, of White, Nisar & Hilferty, LLP. Dinora completed her undergraduate studies at the University of St Andrews, a Scottish university, and received a degree in Philosophy and Social Anthropology. Dinora went on to attend the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, graduating in May 2017.
During her time in law school, Dinora maintained a variety of internships. Dinora worked during her first summer in law school at the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office in the Employment Litigation division, attending depositions, performing discovery, and drafting motions for almost a dozen different employment discrimination cases. Dinora served as a law clerk for the New York Department of State Office of Administrative Hearings, assisting multiple Administrative Law Judges with disciplinary hearings. Dinora also advised elderly clients during her time with Cardozo’s Medicare Rights Clinic, and completed a trademark prosecution internship at Epstein Drangel LLP.
Dinora focused her legal studies on both administrative law and intellectual property law. She was a Staff Editor for Cardozo’s Arts & Entertainment Law Journal in her second year of law school, and was elected to the Board as an Articles Editor in her final year of law school. The Journal published Dinora’s Note, Abilify, Brintellix, Champix: The ABCs of FDA Proprietary Name Disputes.
